Mmmmm, beautiful C's.  Whenever I see this logo I get a slight pang in my stomach-knowing that Chanel makes some of the best clothing and purses that would look absolutely fabulous on me but I still have yet to afford them...sigh.

BUT, some fun news: Karl Lagerfeld has chosen Blake Lively as the official face of the “MADEMOISELLE” handbag line. It was posted on Chanel's site (how many times can I type 'Chanel'?  Let's count)* that "Her spontaneity and fresh, youthful image have convinced Chanel that she is the right person to represent the house and this range of bags".  Hmmm, interesting.  Makes sense though.  She's insanely pretty and totally convincing as Serena Vanderwoodsen in Gossip Girl, even if her role in The Town was not.  But, who cares?!  Chanel is definitely uptown and doesn't usually concern Southies ;)

Hello Kitty is coming to Sephora!

And from the looks of it there will be lots of pink involved-horrah!

So the past couple posts seemed to scream 'girls only club!' so I thought we could all use a little mashup art.

VS.

Ok, so I didn't watch the Golden Globes.  They're not nearly as fun as the Academy Awards and I see enough of movie stars taking credit for entire films more often than I'd like to (must be the film student in me).

BUT, I was in total shock to see this photo of EMMA freaking STONE on the red carpet.  She looks like a young Sharon Stone, don't you think?  (though they both claim there is no relation).  Well played, girl!  You may have a lisp, a small lack of tact (after stating to a reporter at the event “I am super bored.  This is the worst.  Yuck.  I am going home.  No, I am!”), and unable to snag a best actress award-but at least you were nominated!  AND you are looking MARVELOUS in that peachy Calvin Klein dress!

I saw The King's Speech last night!  Everything you may have heard about it is true: It's oscar worthy on many fronts.  A great story, fabulous cinematography and fantastic acting.  Mix that in with a bit of a history lesson and it makes for a great show.

Some other films that are on my list to see this year...

Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, one of Mario Batali's delicious creations in the West Village is everything I hoped it would be.  Months after hearing about the creative pizza's and outstanding wine list, I made the trip myself.   And I have to say, Otto will now be put in my rotation of fun and tasty places to eat (especially when friends come to visit).

HOLY SNOWSTORM!!

Another crazy snowstorm hit NYC and Brooklyn.  These are some photos I snapped this morning.  Last night was so gorgeous, I wish I had my camera-big fluffy snowflakes falling, the air was still and it was so quiet.  Let's hope this is packing snow so I can make a snowperson this weekend :)

If you have never been to the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in Chelsea, I strongly urge you to go NOW.  A collection of Ray Caesar's most recent works are being shown and they are astoundingly beautiful.  Almost all of Caesar's creations teeter loosely between fantasy and darkness, which makes the collection all the more enjoyable.  Exclusively depicting young women with china doll features, each background and costume is more detailed and elaborate than the next.  It seems almost criminal that there is no price for admission.
