I'm not longer a Grumpy virgin!  Huzzah!

No but, for reals.  I went to Cafe Grumpy (finally) in Chelsea and it was as delicious as everyone told me it would be.  I ordered a soy latte and also had a small cup of coffee-BUUUZZZ!  The only complaint I have is that the spot is small.  I'm sure this wouldn't be so much of an issue if I hadn't of stopped by in the middle of winter with the rest of Chelsea scrunching it's way into the shop with wet, sloshy boots, eyeing down all the taken tables with envy and pushing it's way through for hot drinks.  (I may be slightly exaggerating...but it was still a little irritating, as many hot spots in NYC are).  Dare I say the coffee is worth the trip and crowded aggravation?  Strangely, yes.  But that doesn't mean I'm not excited to stop back when the weather is on par with the photo above, and not the freezing rain mess that is happening outside my window right now (but I would rather not talk about that...).

Whether you're a fan of Valentines Day, or totally hate it.  You have to appreciate the construction of the human heart and how it makes us do things we might not normally do, makes us feel for our friends, and keeps us alive in general.  These cakes (yes cakes), created by lilli vanilli, are made of red velvet sponge, cream cheese frosting and blackcurrant/cherry 'blood'.  And guess what?  They are on sale for your favorite valentine!

Ahhh, wouldn't it be amazing to travel to the best museums in the world, seeings the most classic paintings ever created right in front of your face for FREE?  Yes, yes it would.  BUT, if you have neither the time nor resources to do so, Google has come up with the next best thing...

Google's Art Project is an online gallery of high-resolution images of artwork from galleries around the world.  It also includes a virtual tour of these galleries via the 'walk through' feature that is popular on google maps (better known as 'street view').  The project was launched on February 1st of this year and includes work in the Met, the Tate Gallery in London and the Uffizi in Florence.  What is especially interesting is that you are able to zoom in on these images so closely that you can see the small cracks in the paint.  I can only image the capabilities of the cameras that were used.

Check out the behind the scenes video and go to http://www.googleartproject.com/ to take a peek at the art and virtual tour.  Hello, Michelangelo!

It's that time of year... Time for flowers, cupcakes, chocolate and alien life forms dressed in outrageously fun clothing.  Gooo Fashion!

Mmm, this place was yummy.  I've been here before for cocktails (their front bar area is very nice) and finally made my way over for an early dinner this past weekend.  Though they aren't super veg friendly, their gnocchi with rosemary was tasty, as were the salads.  And I hear that the meat plate appetizer was also delish (though it does not appeal to me).
